The current pricing structure is what allows small startup businesses and nonprofits to get a foothold on a level playing field in the world of online communications. Removing the price cap would destroy that and limit new ideas and good work of all kinds from finding success in this environment. Please maintain current pricing.

I have a number of Domains ending .info, however, I am also aware of a number charitable institutes, on-line specific ailment?? support clubs and associations with little or no spare funds use these TLD's. In my opinion to convert what has thus far been a reasonable cost service provision into the sort of 'wild west' which would be caused by allowing Public Interest Registry (PIR), to ramp up charges without restraint is a shocking betrayal of those domain owners who rely on such fees remaining affordable. Such an action will be a deplorable disservice to millions of small business owners and institutions who would be the ones picking up the bill, and?? worse yet, a bill they would suddenly have no idea regarding how fast or high future costs might rise. I am frankly shocked that an organisation such as ICANN would even?? consider such a change in trading terms as being in any way fair to the billions of domain owners. Hello, It is egregious that the domain names and services have been steadily increasing over the years and now without proper restraint or regulation. This will make is prohibitive for smaller businesses and entrepreneurs to enter the Fields of their choice. Also, the manner in which these fees are charged are not as transparent as they need to be. This should be regulated fee and not subject to any increase, ever. A flat fee into perpetuity. Also, to hold domain names for fee is out of control too. If a name is locked up with a broker And they are auctioning it for a ridiculous fee,… this creates an environment of inequality. Make this a fair and equal playing ground… Not one, sigh, that once again only benefits the wealthy. Do something important and right for the progress of our economies. I am a web developer with many nonprofit and educational clients who use .info. One rule that is always true about all of them is that they have small budgets for things other than programs and keeping the lights on. They don't have extra money to go toward technology overhead like domain names. If you allow the prices to increase by removing the price caps, they will all pay more and this will hurt their budgets for programs. Please don't do this! For-profit businesses is one thing, but nonprofits should never be gouged like this. Please keep the price caps in place on .info domains, for the good of all who need the information that they provide. Leaving it to be completely at the discretion of Public Interest Registry is not in the best interest of me or my clients - the public and the consumers. Please do not make this decision. The price caps should remain in place as has been the operating norm for years. This would unnecessarily disrupt an integral part of the internet and should not be removed without better analysis.
