Proposed Renewal of .info Registry Agreement I wish to voice my objection to removing price caps on domain charges. Registration of a domain should be a public service, accessible by all. Allowing whatever the market will bear has the effect that the large corporate user can register a 1000 domains while the average public will not afford any. The internet should be a level playing field. Every product, thought, opinion should have the same opportunity. The trend that is occuring is internet dominance by an ever smaller group, setting the rate of domain registrations to the wealthiest is harmful to the world in general. The internet was a much nicer place in the 1990's. Cal Young

*This message is in regards to the following proposal section: Pricing for Domain Name Registrations and Registry Services (Section 2.10 of the .info renewal agreement)* The proposal as worded is unreasonable and anti-consumer in its lack of foresight. Making domain registration affordable for consumers is good for everyone, and the existing agreements allowance of 10% increases per year is more than generous given it is well ahead of inflation costs. The cost to registrars does not increase in any significant manner based on the nature of the materials that must be kept to properly record registrations, and as such the proposal that removing the 10% cap is somehow a step toward treating Registry Operators more equitably is laughable. This is clearly an anti-consumer proposal, and should be rejected.

I am completely opposed to the plan of removing the pricing caps. It is only good the for isps/registrars. there is no much work related for the isp to keep up a domain.if teh fees will rise to much peopel will loo out for alternatives. and regarding to tcpip. other registarts could rise and dont follow icann. it could lead to a split of dns. we need to keep against the trrend of the internet as it was designed ages ago. we alreday face a split america and eu due to the new copyright laws. people will do their own internet independant from icann etc or create their own dark web/internet
