[Comments-info-renewal-18mar19] Comments on New .info Contracts
I think I must be missing something about the proposed new contract. The existing cap of 10% can already be quite steep for individuals or companies that maintain multiple domains. The lack of predictability of cost and potential significant increase in annual fees could lead some to stop using .info domains and only use the version of their domain that uses more common extensions. This will not be positive for the .info domain, the registrars nor the end users. I am glad to have several .info domains in the domains that we own, but this change could lead to a need to rethink that. I would ask ICANN to rethink the changes in that section and for ICANN to look for an appropriate balance between the commercial needs of domain registrars and entities using and owning domains. I would hope ICANN would act in the public interest in this regard. ---------- *The Rev. Christopher L. Smith, LCAC, LMHC, LMFT* *President and Clinical Director* *Seeking Shalom* *P.O.
