I am a .org registrant. ICANN staff should not unilaterally impose URS in legacy TLDs when that issue is precisely what is being examined by the volunteer ICANN Working Group who has been mandated to review this issue. ICANN policy making is supposed to be a ‘bottom up, multi-stakeholder model’. I believe that legacy gTLDs are fundamentally different from for-profit new gTLDs. Legacy TLDs are essentially a public trust, unlike new gTLDs which were created, bought and paid for by private interests. Registrants of legacy TLDs are entitled to price stability and predictability, and should not be subject to price increases with no maximums. Unlike new gTLDs, registrants of legacy TLDs registered their names and made their online presence on legacy TLDs on the basis that price caps would continue to exist. Unrestrained price increases on the millions of .org registrants who are not-for-profits or non-profits would be unfair to them. Unchecked price increases have the potential to result in hundreds of millions of dollars being transferred from these organizations to one non-profit, the Internet Society, with .org registrants receiving no benefit in return. ICANN should not allow one non-profit nearly unlimited access to the funds of other non-profits. ICANN appears to be entirely catering to registries by removing price caps. ICANN should stand up for the public interest and registrants!

With regards to the current ICANN PIR .org agreement, it is quite clear that these domain name registrars will have to place any price they see necessary irrespective of who will leave the web space. I therefore, join millions of other .org domain name owners to request that the regulatory body (ICANN), who had maintained a steady check on the domain name fees continue with the price regulation to help ascertain the smooth flow of .org domain name registration and renewal. Working at a small non-profit that relies heavily on government funding which has been seriously diminishing over the past few years; I have seen just exactly how rising prices and funding cutbacks have hurt not jus my company, but other small businesses in my area. I urge iCann to not raise prices on their domain registrations. Golly mister. I think the prices are fine where they are. In a world where prices keep going up, it would be nice to have a place where prices stay the same or go down. Think of the children! :)

To whom it may concern: I can understand that the Registry Operator will be spending more money with the new regulations that will bring .org into line with the base registry agreement. However, complete removal of the price cap may significantly hurt those of us in the nonprofit sector. I ask, therefore, that you raise the cap, perhaps significantly, but not eliminate it altogether. .org is typically used by nonprofit organizations, which I have supported for years. These organizations have little resources to operate. I am appalled that in the new .org proposal sets no limit on what the PIR can charge. Not only am I against this proposed change, I believe the wholesale price limit for .org should be lowered. ICANN makes plenty of money from all the ridiculous TLDs introduced during the past 7 years. Do the right thing and lower the price for .org or leave it the way it's been. Don’t remove price caps on .org platforms, they’re essential to help give charities and community organisations a voice. Don’t price people out of participating in creating valuable online content with a social service

Please do not remove the price cap on .org domains. Generally speaking, .org domains are used by organizations which may largely be non profit. They may not be able to afford the price increases. As it stands, .org prices are already higher than their more popular .com and .net counterparts. Keep things affordable, keep the cap.

I disagree with removing price caps from the domain registration of .org accounts. This will clearly lead to extreme price increases.
