Thank you for the opportunity to submit a comment. I am a .org registrant. I've read about a lot of bad decisions under the UDRP. The URS seems even worse. I heard the URS is very new and is being reviewed now to see if it is working properly. It is too soon to include an untested policy on .org domains where for a few hundred dollars anyone could try to shut down someone else's website. Telling the .org registry that it can charge any price it wants for renewing a domain name is a terrible idea. Why would you allow them to set a crazy high price? They could try to force the domain owners to pay a very high price each year to renew their domain name, and if the domain owner either won't or can't, then the .org registry could take away their domain name, set a high registration price on it, and then try to find someone else who is willing to pay a high price for it. This is very unfair to long time .org domain owners who may see their prices raised sky high for no reason. You let the new domain extensions charge any price they want, but that hasn't gone so well. Lots of people got burned when the new registries offered low rates for the first year, and then after people registered the domain names and some built web sites on them, some of the prices were raised through the roof. .Org has been working just fine for decades where the prices maybe go up a little bit each year. Allowing huge price increases from one year to the next could ruin .org for everybody. I think you should pay a little more attention to what is good for the owners of .org domain names. The registries are doing fine. They don't need your help as they are already making plenty of money.

Please so not allow PIR to set whatever prices it wishes. The pricing cap is working fine. The reason everyone is purchasing online is because the competition brings prices down for everyone. By increasing pricing, even on a domain, you add to the price that individuals, non-profits, and small organizations are charged, and that makes them less competitive against the big guys who already have the value of economies of scale. It is a matter of simple economics. Competition is better. Is PIR had significant competition to hold them in check, price caps wouldn't be necessary. But that isn't the case. Please consider adding an annual cap to annual registration costs as is present in the correct agreement. If an increase more substantial than 10% annually is needed to cover costs, perhaps include a one time increase to realign fees with costs while maintaining a long term annual cap. Please do not allow uncapped prices on domain registration! I’ve already lost a lot of my important domains because I could not afford them as a small business, but if you allow uncapped price increases, I could lose everything. I’m not the only one in this position! So many small businesses could be completely destroyed if you allow prices to increase without caps. It is urgent that you consider our requests. Registrars are already raising prices regularly, making it more and more costly to operate every year, even when profits are decreasing because companies like Google (with their AdSense program) are lowering the amounts they pay regularly. Allowing prices to increase too rapidly could silence millions of voices, because they simply cannot afford to keep their domains. Thank you. Sent from my iPad

Hi, As a gamer and trying to start up a small business domains are important, I use . .Org domains to make the work I do look more professional but due to lack of funding I am grateful for the cap that ICANN put in place meaning that company’s can’t charge ridiculous amounts for a small domain name, however if ICANN was to remove this cap it would allow them to charge people £1000’s for a domain that currently costs me £10 a year Thanks

URL registrations especially .org registrations used by nonprofit organizations need to have a price cap in place. Budgets are always tight for on-going nonprofits. But when a nonprofit founder has an idea for a charity to bring life to a cause, it starts with an idea and a cause. Many nonprofits and businesses are bootstrapping their idea into something viable and increased costs and administration of any sort are barriers to getting something off the ground. It's common for a nonprofit to register multiple URLs not just to protect the name but to think ahead and consider different projects or platforms of communication all requiring URL registration. So any increased costs add up and can build obstacles for on-going business especially startups and nonprofit organizations.
