Whoever you are, thank you for reading this!
In this era of new TLDs, vanity domains are as ubiquitous as they are expensive. I understand this and believe the pricing model for newer, more interesting TLDs is justified. When it comes to the stalwart classic ".Org" domain, however, I believe an exception to this policy should be retained. Along with the .Net domain, the cultural connotations denote an accessibility to all citizens of the World Wide Web. I believe these two TLDs should forever be protected via price caps and that those caps should reflect their universal accessibility.
There is no shortage of entities both small and large willing to purchase newer more expensive TLDs in addition to these classics and I imagine it would be possible to make up for any fiscal loss due to maintaining these caps via other means.
As someone who pays for both vanity (starsca.de) and established familiarity (starscade.org and starscade.net), I urge the powers that be to reconsider this clause in the upcoming changes.
