Others have phrased this more eloquently, but just my two cents: the .org TLD is a critical part of today's Internet; it possesses both historical and social value to the public. Allowing any one organization to have unfettered, monopolistic control over its pricing is therefore a bad idea. The pricing provisions should stay as they are, in the best interest of the ten million .org registrants and the billions who rely on .org sites every day.
