The proposal to remove caps on registration fees seems ill-conceived and transparently like an attempt to allow registries to manage monopolies on domain registration where they can set their own price. Given the immense damage any organization reliant on a domain would suffer if they had to change their domain, this seems deliberately designed to give registries unlimited ability to extort their clients.
