I am a .org registrant. Price increase caps exist to prevent exploitation, which would be very easy to commit in an industry like domain name registration, and I believe non-profits require this protection even more. Removal of these caps would have a chilling effect on the entire non-profit industry, as many of these organizations rely on their websites to do their work, and registrars would almost certainly take advantage of this dependency to extract unconscionable profits from organizations which serve the public good.
