Tijani,

Unless I am misunderstanding you, it doesn’t seem to me that we are disagreeing.  Community input is definitely a part of the planning process so it must be factored into the planning process.  But I don’t think that the session in Singapore is for getting that community input on the specifics of the plan and budget but rather to focus on the process to ensure that it best facilitates getting community input that can indeed impact the final plan and budget. In my opinion, if we focus on discussing the details of the plan and budget in Singapore, there will not be time to discuss and improve the process.  Moreover, if community members expect that the session will be about plan and budget content, we will get different volunteers that we would if they expect it to be about process.

Good morning Chuck and all,

For me the Xavier formulation of the objective matches better with my understanding; in fact it will be about the planning process and not the community input process. The community input is part of the planning process in my PoV.

I wish you all a happy new year full of good health, more success and plenty of joy.

Thanks Xavier.  I had understood that this group would talk about the budget process going forward.  According to the objective below, that appears to still be the case; is that correct?

To make it clear that this is not an opportunity for community input on the Operating plan & budget themselves, I think it might be a good idea to reword the objective something like the following: “Early input on the process for obtaining community input on the FY16 Operating Plan and Budget.”
