Motion to extend term of GNSO liaison to the GAC

Dear councillors, as the pilot program for the GNSO liaison to the GAC will be ending its first term shortly, and the role has shown to be beneficial to both the council and the GAC, it would be beneficial to extend the program for FY 16. I am therefore submitting this motion to extend the term of the current GNSO liaison, Mason Cole, for your attention and approval. Mason has already indicated he would be willing to serve another term. Best regards, Volker

The GNSO Working Group Newcomer Open House Session returns on 4 June 2015 at 20:00 UTC and we are pleased to invite you to participate. These informal sessions provide an ideal opportunity for participants to ask questions about the GNSO Policy Development Process and the specifics of taking part in a Working Group. Of course, even though the open house sessions are intended for newcomers, anyone interested in brushing up their knowledge or looking for an opportunity to engage with others interested in GNSO policy development activities are welcome. This is a document to seek informal feedback from the GNSO Council to inform the debate of the CWG on Country and Territory Names as top level domains, especially in light of a potential overlaps in interests with other SO/ACs further down the line. ccNSO colleagues have already provided some input so it would be especially useful to hear some views from the GNSO Council to assure balanced discussions. GNSO Policy and Implementation Working Group Final Report

Hi, Attached to this email, you’ll find the final report of the GNSO Policy and Implementation Working Group. I’m submitting this for the Council’s consideration on behalf of the WG, and at the request of the WG Chairs. I would be happy to answer any questions regarding the content and recommendations of the report, but also note that a briefing to the Council is scheduled to be held on Saturday, June 20th — on the first day of the GNSO weekend sessions in Buenos Aires by Chuck Gomes and J. Scott Evans, the WG co-chairs. I expect to submit a motion in time for the GNSO Council to vote on adoption of the recommendations in this report at the GNSO public meeting in Buenos Aires on Wednesday, June 24th. The WG members have reached full consensus on the recommendations made in the report.
