Ayden, Darcy, Erika, Flip, Michele, Phillipe and Tatiana: During our GNSO Working Session in Kobe, the seven of you volunteered to help develop GNSO Council recommendations for improvements to ICANN's current Legislative/Regulatory tracking effort. As we discussed, ICANN's work in this area is relatively new and still evolving, and we have an opportunity to engage with Theresa's group to help shape their approach to ensure it is applicable to our policy work and process management responsibilities. While their work product is currently a spreadsheet, I recall we agreed it needs to go much deeper in analysis and demonstrate a predictive capability for where future or existing regulations impact GNSO policies, in effect now or under future development. Please work together and with Staff to help kick off this important and timely work. Thanks, Keith

Loss of Adobe Connect

Dear all, [ICANN has announced](https://www.icann.org/news/blog/transitioning-icann-s-remote-par… that it will be rapidly transitioning away from the Adobe Connect platform to Zoom. I am not sure if there was consultation with other parts of the community, or if there is support for this decision, but I was hoping to hear from other Councillors as to whether or not they thought this decision would have implications on our work. I have used Zoom before and found the platform's interface to not be particularly intuitive, so I am worried. Perhaps someone could put me at ease that this will not be a consequential change. Please forgive the negative sentiment to my message here, but it really seems a poor allocation of resources to me. Update from EPDP team & Questions

Hi all Here some brief update from the EPDP team. The team spent the last calls (90min call per week) since Janis started his role as chair early this month to discuss the approach to be followed for phase 2, including also the review the legal questions and the tools the team will use for deliberation. I attached the slides presented in last call to explain the approach ,includes a rough high level timeline and next steps till Marrakech meeting. Please let me know if you want more details. I also got request for clarification in the last call. As expected, there was interest within EPDP team with regard to board resolution on EPDP phase final report and policy recommendations. The EPDP team is seeking clarification from the GNSO Council regarding the Bylaw-triggered consultation process following the non-adoption by Board of parts of GNSO Council approved recommendations. I understand that council can realistically respond to this after our extraordinary meeting on board resolution next week. Best, Rafik

I’m also very pleased to inform you that the CSC and PTI made considerable progress in updating the Service Level Agreements (SLAs) identified in our Findings Report [r20.rs6.net]<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__r20.rs6.net_tn.jsp-3Ff-…>. The CSC was informed that ICANN and PTI have completed the amendment of the IANA Naming Function Contract to allow for a differentiated approach to changes of the SLAs. The CSC has agreed with the PTI plan how to update two (2) Service Levels listed in the CSC Findings Report: 1. Update to “Technical Checks – Retest” to better align with operational realities. The change refers to the timing for tests (current SLA 1-5 minutes, the actual performance is between 5-8 minutes and the proposal is to change it to 10 minutes). It is understood that this change does NOT have an impact on the services to the direct customers, and therefore and in accordance with agreed procedures no public comment period is required. 2. The second change is the introduction of a new SLA for processing Label Generation Rules (LGRs) with respect to Internationalized Domain Name tables and publishing these tables. This is a new SLA to be introduced at the suggestion of the CSC. PTI will shortly start a public comment forum to seek feed-back and input on the proposed SLA.
