approved the GNSO Chair election timetable and procedure that is published in the revised GNSO Operating Procedures v3.2 (01 September 2016) <https://gnso.icann.org/en/council/op-procedures-01sep16-en.pdf> and the proposed time line and procedure has been published at: https://gnso.icann.org/en/elections/proposed-council-chair-07sep16-en.pdf

The Chair election time line is attached and in summary, as follows:

 As a reminder, 'each house will be allowed to nominate one candidate for GNSO Council Chair. Each house is responsible for determining how to nominate its candidate. A candidate for GNSO Council Chair does not need to be a member of a house, but must be a current or incoming member of the GNSO Council. Should the Chair be elected from outside of the houses, that Chair will be a non- voting Chair’. Proposed procedure in Hyderabad November 2016 

Each candidate will have the opportunity of meeting with Council Members during the GNSO meetings in Hyderabad in November 2016 (remote participation possible).

Election of the chair by voting of the Council will take place during the Council meeting in Hyderabad on Monday, 7 November 2015.

In order for the vote to take place, the Council meeting will be split in two parts:

ˇ       Standard, open and public Council meeting with the current Council.

ˇ       Adjourn the meeting

ˇ       Re-seat the Council with the new Councilors.

ˇ       Re-start new meeting, with one specific agenda item: Election of the Chair
