ICANN org will host a webinar on Tuesday, 28 September 2021 at 20:00 UTC (l [r20.rs6.net]ocal time [r20.rs6.net]) to provide an update on the New Generic Top-Level Domain (gTLD) Subsequent Procedures Policy Development Process (SubPro) Operational Design Phase (ODP). The webinar will give an overview of the scope [r20.rs6.net] and timeline of the ODP. It will also include a general overview of the ICANN org ODP process [r20.rs6.net] followed by a question and answer segment. Read more. [r20.rs6.net]

ICANN invites the community to join a follow-up webinar on the System for Standardized Access/Disclosure (SSAD) Operational Design Phase (ODP) on Thursday, 23 September 2021 at 03:00 UTC (Wednesday, 22 September 2021 at 20:00 PDT).

Please register [r20.rs6.net] in advance for details on how to join the webinar.

The webinar will provide a status report on the progress made during the ODP and share additional details about when the Operational Design Assessment (ODA) is expected to be delivered to the ICANN Board. It will also include a general discussion of the ODP [r20.rs6.net] moving forward and lessons learned.

The webinar will be presented in English with interpretation in Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish. Video and audio recordings will be published on the SSAD ODP webpage [r20.rs6.net].

NEW: ICANN Board Resolves on ODP for the Subsequent Procedures Final Report Outputs

The ICANN Board recently directed the ICANN President and CEO to conduct an Operational Design Phase (ODP) assessment of the recommendations contained in the Final Report [r20.rs6.net] of the New Generic Top-Level Domain (gTLD) Subsequent Procedures Policy Development Process.

NEW: Next Steps in ICANN's Preparations for a New gTLD Subsequent Procedures ODP

As announced [r20.rs6.net] on 14 September 2021, the ICANN Board has directed the ICANN President and CEO, or his designees, to prepare for an Operational Design Phase (ODP) to assess the resource and operational impacts of the Outputs contained in the Final Report [r20.rs6.net] of the New Generic Top-Level Domain (gTLD) Subsequent Procedures Policy Development Process (PDP). The ICANN Board is making this request because we expect the information and details resulting from the ODP will inform and help to facilitate our determination regarding the Subsequent Procedures Final Report Outputs. It is important to note that, at this stage, the Board is asking the Org for an operational assessment to inform our decision on this important area of work.

REMINDER: ICANN Continues the Pandemic Internet Access Reimbursement Program

Interested ICANN community members must apply in advance of ICANN72, and those who meet the eligibility requirements will be selected to participate. The application deadline is Friday, 08 October 2021 at 23:59 UTC. The application process opens today, and program details are available here [r20.rs6.net].

The goal of this program is to facilitate participation in ICANN Public Meetings during the pandemic. It offers community members who have limited Internet capacity financial assistance to increase their Internet bandwidth.
