Thanks Anne- I agree we should spend a couple minutes confirming next steps on requesting a study (and ensuring there are no strong objections to taking such a step).

On Xavier’s letter, I think I understand your position (which appears to be shared by others on council) so no worries about the conflict.

Thank you, Steve.

(1) Re the agenda for the Wrap-up and/or the November meeting, what do we need to do to move the study on diacritics forward as agreed today in the Council meeting?  (Mark is going to lead.)

(2) Re the agenda item for November related to Auction Proceeds and Xavier's letter, we ran out of time this morning at the meeting with the Board, but there is an update here in Hamburg tomorrow on the ICANN Grant Program.  That session conflicts with the GNSO Council Wrap-Up but I plan to attend the Grant Program session tomorrow afternoon at 1:15 pm anyway to see what staff says about the ByLaws issue.  Regrets as I may not be present for the WrapUp but I understand no formal notice is necessary since I am NomCom Non-Voting.

(3) In the chart of liaisons - just a note my last name is misspelled. (no biggy)

Thank you,

Anne

Dear Councilors,

As noted during the GNSO Council’s Admin Session, please find some suggested topics for the Council’s Wrap-Up session taking place tomorrow: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/192qepuBiX-jxpeK3vjuMr23yKwhooOv1u_ICJJZT3I0/edit#slide=id.g291e045559b_0_793 Please reply to the list if any agenda items should be amended or added. A couple of things to take into consideration when reviewing the proposed agenda:

  • Under agenda item 2, you will see a number of potential topics for the Council’s November meeting. Given the very short turnaround until that meeting, we thought it might be helpful to take advantage of this meeting to get input on the agenda. Note, the purpose of agenda item 2 is not to consider any of the suggested topics substantively during this Wrap-Up session.
  • On slide three, you’ll see that the GNSO Council liaison to various efforts are captured, and we’ve highlighted where a replacement seems to be needed.

Best,

Steve
