Hi again Council colleagues
I’m looking forward to seeing you all in person or online for the upcoming meeting.
The GNSO Council meetings will start on Sunday, although wider GNSO activity will kick off on Saturday, which sees both of the GNSO’s PDP working groups – Latin Diacritics and DNS Abuse PDP1 – meeting for working sessions, and various SG/C
meetings also taking place.
On Sunday we have pretty much a full day of Council working sessions plus our meeting with the GAC. Hopefully, you have all seen the working session agendas, which can be accessed via the ICANN 85 schedule since these are public sessions,
but for convenience here are the links:
Note that:
- For working session 1, in addition to prepping for our meetings with the GAC and board, we will have an informal
discussion on urgent requests with some of the Board Caucus – I am hoping that they will share more information before we meet.
- Our working session 2 will be the GNSO’s opportunity to engage with the Review of Reviews leadership, discuss their preliminary recommendations and share any initial feedback before
Thursday’s plenary. Please flag this to your SG/C colleagues and encourage them to attend if able. I will share more info in a follow-up email.
- During working session 3 we will build on the discussion we had at our SPS about how Org engages with PDP recommendations to help ensure they are operationally viable, through a case
study based on the Latin Diacritics PDP. We will also discuss some issues relating to the early stages of a PDP – Issue Reports, Studies, PDP representation – requested by Farzaneh/NCSG. I’m attaching some draft slides as background. Please come prepared
to share your thoughts.
