Apologies for the confusion.
There are two GNSO Council mailing lists: the public (council@gnso.icann.org) and the private, closed (ntfy-council@gnso.icann.org).
The private one is used in very rare cases, such as staff circulating information for the GNSO Council dinner, which is of little interest to non-councilors and therefore should not
be cluttering the archives of the public mailing list. Councilors cannot post to the private ntfy list, as all Council discussions should take place on the public, archived list. Please rest assured all councilors are subscribed to both, but do not have posting
rights to the private list.

We wanted to share the update regarding GNSO Council Informal dinner Saturday 11 March 19:00 local time Hacienda El Mortero, Cancún.
From both Krystal Cancun and the venue, this is walkable vs needing a cab.
Walking from Krystal Cancun to venue is approx. 3 minute walk and from Venue to restaurant 3 minute walk.
For those staying in the Krystal Cancun – walk out the main hotel doors and while staying in the drive area, turn left, walk past several shops in including the pharmacy – the restaurant will be on your left (see photo – reddish/pink)
From the venue – walk out main Aloft hotel door, turn right, follow curve around to the right, walk down sidewalk approx. 1 minute and you will see the restaurant across the street.

Dear councilors,
The Informal GNSO Council dinner will take place at Hacienda El Mortero [restaurantehaciendaelmortero.com] in Cancún, a 5 min (500 metres) walk from the Convention Centre. But you may also prefer to take a quick cab as traffic may not be very stroll-friendly. It begins at 19:00 local time so please be on time!
Price per person is $59 service included. As Osvaldo has very kindly sponsored the event, and has advanced the deposit which is 50% of the total bill, we will need 12 councilors to bring cash and pay Osvaldo directly, rather than the venue.
We also need to choose our main courses, please select from one of the below:
- Prawns in Pastor style with a marinade made from chilli peppers, vinegar, herbs, and spices
- Chicken “Sinaloa” style marinated in dark beer and fine herbs “norteño” style
- Steak medallions in huitlacoche (Mexican mushrooms) sauce
- Vegetarian fajitas
