Attached for your information is a document entitled 'Proposed Changes to the Whois Service;ICANN Staff Discussion Points'. This document represents ICANN staff’s consideration of the potential implementation aspects of the two major proposals considered by the Whois Task Force. It has been published on the ICANN website along with the Final Task Force Report on Whois Services; http://icann.org/announcements/announcement-16mar07.htm .

As ICANN staff is charged with implementing final policy decisions that may arise after the conclusion of a policy development process, this document has been prepared for consideration by the GNSO Council and other ICANN participants. This staff document was produced for informational purposes. It has no formal status within the Generic Names Supporting Organisation (GNSO) policy development process.

We hope this document will help to inform those deliberations and provide a useful reference point for this debate.
