Subject: [council] Draft Letter to ICANN Org - Single Character Han Script gTLDs
Dear Councilors,
Staff has prepared a draft letter for the Council to send to our colleagues in the Global Domains & Strategy (GDS) regarding single character Han script gTLDs. As agreed during the Council’s May meeting, the Council wishes to request that GDS, “identify an alternative party to develop the required guidelines, envisioned to be performed by CJK GPs.” Please see the draft letter here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1oiwXXuhDWp7UgJIacanHdx9eRfuRkcd7Tyu9HhwAQbQ/edit?tab=t.0 [docs.google.com]
We would like to suggest that if you have any feedback, please provide by 17 July 2025.
Best,
Steve
