NEW: The Lifecycle of Reviews Project: Evolving the Specific Reviews Process

In September of 2022, the ICANN organization (org) launched the Lifecycle of Reviews Project to investigate the operational challenges currently faced by Specific Reviews [r20.rs6.net] and identify procedural improvements to the process. This project will not look at the substance of reviews or their cadence.

NEW: ICANN Publishes FY23 Annual Report and Audited Financial Statements

ICANN has published its Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2023 (FY23), which ended 30 June 2023, and its audited consolidated financial statements. ICANN also published the FY23 audited financial statements for its Public Technical Identifiers (PTI) affiliate.

NEW: ICANN Reviews Program Update and Interim President and CEO Goal 11

The ICANN Reviews Program [r20.rs6.net] encompasses the management of Specific Reviews  [r20.rs6.net]and Organizational Reviews [r20.rs6.net], including the implementation of the recommendations they generate and the ongoing work to improve the reviews process. Specific [r20.rs6.net] and Organizational [r20.rs6.net] Reviews are required by the ICANN Bylaws [r20.rs6.net]. They are critical to maintaining a healthy ICANN multistakeholder model.

NEW: ICANN CEO Search Update: Executive Search Agency Appointment

As the Chair of the ICANN Board's CEO Search Committee [r20.rs6.net], I'm pleased to announce that the Board has appointed Perrett Laver to lead ICANN's worldwide search to find its next President and CEO.

Perrett Laver is a global executive search firm with operations in over 70 countries and with an important focus on mission-driven sectors.

NEW: ICANN Joins Canadian Community in Discussions About the Future Internet

ICANN is participating in a week of Internet governance-related engagements in Montréal, Canada, from 3 to 5 October 2023.

On 4 October, ICANN Board Chair Tripti Sinha will deliver the morning keynote address at the Canadian Internet Governance Forum (CIGF) 2023: The Future We Want [r20.rs6.net]. The CIGF is a leading forum for Internet governance discussions, offering the opportunity for Canadians from diverse backgrounds and sectors to discuss digital and Internet policy issues. This is the first time an ICANN Board Chair will address the CIGF.

Join Us in Shaping ICANN's FY26-30 Strategic Plan

During this session, ICANN will conduct an environmental scan and identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats that will inform its strategic planning efforts.

🔥 ACTION ITEM: Calling for NextGen@ICANN Applications for ICANN79

ICANN wants to hear from university students living and studying in the North American region who are interested in the future of the Internet and in participating in the ICANN79 Community Forum Meeting. ICANN79 is scheduled to be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico from 2–7 March 2024.

🔥 ACTION ITEM: NextGen@ICANN Mentor Program Nominations

The NextGen@ICANN Program seeks nominations for the 2024 Mentor Program. This appointment will serve for the ICANN79, ICANN80, and ICANN81 meetings.

Nominations must be submitted no later than Friday, 1 November 2023.

The community-nominated mentor will be responsible for overseeing the mentor process. Communities may choose to appoint program alumni and are encouraged to appoint active community members who have an interest in mentoring students.
