NEW: Language Services for ICANN75

 

As we get ready for the upcoming hybrid Annual General Meeting (AGM), we want to provide you with an update on our interpretation services during ICANN75 in Kuala Lumpur. The AGM will mark the first time since the beginning of the pandemic that our entire Language Services team will be on-site to provide interpretation in the six United Nations languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, and Spanish) and Portuguese.

NEW: SubPro ODP Team Holding Session During ICANN75. Send Your Questions Now!

 

The ICANN org SubPro ODP team is setting aside part of its ICANN75 session for a question and answer period and would like to hear from you. Please send any questions you have for the SubPro ODP team to subpro-odp@icann.org no later than Friday, 16 September 2022 so they can address your question during the session in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday, 21 September 2022.

 

 

REMINDER: SubPro ODP Team Offering Update Session to Community Groups

 

In addition to the anticipated session on the New gTLD SubPro ODP, the ICANN org SubPro ODP team is welcoming meetings with interested community groups. If any Supporting Organizations, Advisory Committees, stakeholder, or constituency groups would like to hear from the SubPro ODP team, please email subpro-odp@icann.org to schedule time with us.

 

Please be sure to include any specific topic areas for discussion or if you prefer a general update. In addition, we ask that you share a few date and time options so that we can schedule and prepare accordingly. We look forward to meeting you.

 

 

REMINDER: Pilot Holistic Review Draft Terms of Reference Briefings Available at ICANN75

 

The Public Comment proceeding on the Pilot Holistic Review Draft Terms of Reference opened on 30 August 2022 and will remain open until 20 October 2022. The ICANN org Reviews Support and Accountability team is available for meetings with interested community groups to provide a 15-minute briefing on the Pilot Holistic Review Draft Terms of Reference Public Comment proceeding. Please contact rsa-coordinators@icann.org to schedule a briefing with your community group. Please include requested dates/times for your briefing.

NEW: ICANN President and CEO Shares Goals for Fiscal Year 2023

 

Over the last few years, ICANN resources have been in increasingly high demand. This is a result of ongoing operational activities occurring in parallel with the development and implementation of community-led initiatives that must be conducted the same time. We have prepared for this in many ways, including making internal organizational changes, introducing new work methods, such as the Project Management Framework and operational design phase, hiring additional resources, and developing a prioritization framework.

NEW: SubPro ODP Update: Introducing the Vendor Procurement Work Track

 

As ICANN org continues work on the new generic top-level domain (gTLD) Subsequent Procedures (SubPro) Operational Design Phase (ODP), ICANN org would like to introduce Work Track 5, which focuses on vendor procurement. Vendor evaluation panels are a critical aspect of the technical and financial reviews of applications for new gTLDs, among others. In preparation for the next round of new gTLD applications, ICANN org is developing the necessary plans to retain vendors to conduct many of these assessments.

NEW: ICANN 2022 DNS Symposium to be Held in Brussels

 

ICANN is pleased to announce that the ICANN 2022 DNS Symposium (IDS) will be held in person 15–16 November 2022 in Brussels, Belgium. This two-day event marks a return to in-person events. In 2021, the event was held entirely virtually. In 2020, it was canceled because of the pandemic.

NEW: ICANN Launches the KINDNS Initiative to Promote DNS Security Best Practices

 

ICANN invites you to participate in the "Knowledge-sharing and Instantiation Norms for DNS and Naming Security" (KINDNS) initiative. This initiative promotes Domain Name System (DNS) operational security best practices and encourages DNS operators to voluntarily commit to their implementation.

REMINDER: NextGen@ICANN Program Selection Committee Nominations

 

The NextGen@ICANN Program is seeking nominations to fill three to five slots for selection committee members. Each Supporting Organization and Advisory Committee is asked to nominate candidates for these positions. Individual self-nominations will not be considered. Interested community groups should select their respective NextGen@ICANN volunteers by Friday, 16 September 2022 and notify Deborah Escalera, deborah.escalera@icann.org. Each selection committee member will serve for a period of two years beginning with ICANN76. For program details please visit our page [r20.rs6.net]. 

 

 

REMINDER: Calling for NextGen@ICANN Applications for ICANN76

 

ICANN is calling for applications for the NextGen@ICANN [r20.rs6.net]program.

 

ICANN wants to hear from university students living and studying in the Latin America and Caribbean region who are interested in the future of the Internet and in participating in the ICANN76 Community Forum. ICANN76 is scheduled to be held in Cancún, Mexico from 11–16 March 2023. If ICANN76 is held virtually, the NextGen@ICANN program will also be held virtually. Apply [r20.rs6.net] by 24 October 2022. Successful candidates will be announced on 29 November 2022.
