The ICANN Board will hold its next three-day workshop before the ICANN82 Community Forum in Seattle. This workshop will include a public informational session on the At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC).

ICANN org team members available for engagement on ICANN Reviews and Policy Implementation during ICANN82

 

The ICANN org Policy Research and Stakeholder Programs (PRSP) team Is available to your group to engage on the status of several initiatives underway, including:

 

*Pilot Holistic Review

*Progress of the work led by the community to evolve Organizational Reviews into a Continuous Improvement Program

*Planning for the Fourth Accountability and Transparency Review

*Rights Protection Mechanisms (RPM) policy implementation

*Privacy and Proxy Services Accreditation Issues (PPSAI) policy implementation

*IDN EPDP Phase 1 policy implementation

 

The PRSP team’s remit includes the management of ICANN’s Specific Reviews and Organizational Reviews, and implementation of Review outcomes and policy recommendations coming the multi-stakeholder policy development process.

Information Sharing

 

NEW: ICANN Offers On-Demand Translation For Next Round Outreach Material

 

Community members and other interested individuals are invited to contact the ICANN liaison in their region to request that a particular document be made available in a particular language. The Language Services team will confirm whether that language is supported by the program, and if so, will translate the desired document using the artificial intelligence/neural machine translation platform.

NEW: ASO Address Council Publishes ICP-2 Principles Questionnaire Summary and Data

 

The ASO Address Council will consider the results from the NRO questionnaire and the input received through ICANN Public Comment while developing the draft of the next version of ICP-2.

NEW: ICANN RFP: Dispute Resolution Service Providers for the Next Round

 

The dispute resolution process is intended to afford certain parties an opportunity to advance objections based on four defined grounds; the non-prevailing party will have the opportunity to appeal to the panel's determination.

NEW: Shaping the Future of DNS: Join the 2025 Middle East DNS Forum in Bahrain

 

The 2025 Middle East Domain Name System (DNS) Forum will take place from 29–30 April 2025 in Manama, Bahrain, hosted in collaboration with Bahrain's Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA).

NEXT FRIDAY: Update on Call for Expressions of Interest: 2025 ICANN Nominating Committee Standing Committee Members

 

The reopening of the Expressions of Interest period aims to provide an opportunity for additional candidates to apply, allowing for a more comprehensive evaluation and selection process.

 

Expressions of Interest, which will be kept confidential, should be sent to NomComStandingCommitteeEOI@icann.org [danh45uab.cc.rs6.net] no later than 14 March 2025.

ICANN83 Community Childcare Grants Program: Apply Now

 

Grants of up to $750 per family are available for ICANN Public Meeting participants who meet the criteria, are bringing children, and will incur expenses associated with babysitting or local childcare services. There will be no on-site meeting or conference-sponsored childcare services during ICANN83.

ICANN Community Wiki Upgrades

 

ICANN has migrated the ICANN Community Wiki [danh45uab.cc.rs6.net] to a cloud-based service. This will enhance its stability and reliability. You will also notice an improved user experience. These changes will not affect content or collaboration, and we do not anticipate any disruptions to important ICANN community work because the data migration happened during the weekend. This is an exciting development to better support the ICANN community.

 

 

ICANN Opens New gTLD Registry Service Provider Evaluation Program

 

ICANN has opened the Registry Service Provider (RSP) Evaluation Program for the New Generic TopLevel Domains (gTLD) Program: Next Round. The RSP Evaluation Program was created to streamline the evaluation of gTLD applications by separating the evaluation of the technical aspects of operating the gTLD from the application for the name.

ICANN is working with the community to identify potential Applicant Support Program (ASP) applicants – especially in regions that are currently under-represented in ICANN. Call for ASP Mentors

 

ICANN is seeking volunteer mentors who would like to offer their expertise to supported applicants as part of the ASP in the new gTLD Program: Next Round [danh45uab.cc.rs6.net]. ICANN is looking for mentors who can share insights and experience across ICANN Languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish) to support diverse gTLD applicants.

 

Mentors may play a role in: advising applicants on navigating the gTLD application process and DNS industry; identifying resources; providing guidance; sharing experiences as appropriate; and helping supported applicants navigate the ICANN community and Public Meetings.
