Further to Steve’s email, I just want to reiterate our call for councillors to come prepared to our extraordinary meeting on Thursday.

 

The combination of virtual meetings and priorities in terms of launching/closing PDPs has been such that we had less time for approaching these four items, nonetheless it’s important our respective SG/Cs weigh in on these. Feel free to start on the list between now and Thursday.

Dear Councilors,

 

On behalf of Council leadership, I wanted to share a document intended to help in preparing for and collectively planning for the upcoming Extraordinary Council meeting on 08 April 2021 at 19:00 UTC. In the Google doc available, you will see the four topics on the meeting agenda: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_yvx7lsJSgHSdl3MO2-xEmXP28gpSfSWOoFWlIhwPZI/edit.

 

1. In the third column, you will find required reading for each of the agenda items. Please come prepared to the meeting having reviewed all of the required items.
2. In the fourth and fifth column, you will see proposed “Questions/Clarifications” and “Goals for Topic” respectively. The idea here is to try and provide structure to the discussion and make agenda items as outcome driven as possible, though of course this is not a decisional meeting. Noting that review of the required reading in advance will be helpful, the ask here is that in advance of the meeting, you review the proposed text in the preparation document now and consider if amendments or additions are helpful to support the Council dialogue.

 

Lastly, there are two additional supporting draft documents being prepared to further support the conversation for items 1 (Wave 1.5) and 2 (accuracy briefing paper), which will be shared separately soon.

 

Please let us know if there are any questions or concerns and please do of course engage in any helpful discussion ahead of the meeting on the Council list.
