REMINDER: ICANN Continues the Pandemic Internet Access Reimbursement Program

Interested ICANN community members must apply in advance of ICANN73, and those who meet the eligibility requirements will be selected to participate. The application process [r20.rs6.net] opens Monday, 24 January 2022. The application deadline is Friday, 18 February 2022 at 23:59 UTC.

The goal of this program is to facilitate participation in ICANN Public Meetings during the pandemic. It offers community members who have limited Internet capacity financial assistance to increase their Internet bandwidth.

TUESDAY: Register for ICANN's Next SSAD ODP Project Update Webinar

The ICANN will host a webinar on Tuesday, 18 January 2022 at 1500 UTC to provide the community with an update on the System for Standardized Access/Disclosure (SSAD) Operational Design Phase.

The webinar will present background and assumptions around costs and fees, the ICANN org analysis and considerations, and some questions for discussion.

The webinar will be presented in English with interpretation in Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish available through the Adigo dial-in line. Video and audio recordings will be published on the SSAD ODP webpage [r20.rs6.net].

NEW: FY24 Strategic Outlook Trend Identification Sessions

ICANN is kicking off the FY24 Strategic Outlook trend identification process. Community members will have the opportunity to participate in trend identification sessions via their Supporting Organization (SO) or Advisory Committee (AC). ICANN org will collaborate with SO and AC chairs and support teams to schedule their sessions. We are targeting to complete the trend sessions by mid-March.

The Strategic Outlook Program is a joint effort of ICANN org, community, and Board to identify and track trends that are related to ICANN. This ensures that these opportunities and challenges are incorporated into current and future planning. Every year, new trends or shifts in existing trends impacting the operating plans (five-year or annual) and/or budget are factored into the annual iteration of those plans as appropriate. Significant shifts could also result in adjustments to the strategic plan.

Once complete, ICANN org will conduct a trend analysis and impact assessment. All strategic outlook sessions will be conducted virtually, and community members are encouraged to join this important discussion. We look forward to your participation in this dialogue about ICANN planning and strategy.

NEW: Join ICANN's Virtual Discussion on Internet-Related Legislation in Canada

ICANN is pleased to announce a briefing and interactive discussion on proposed Canadian online harms legislation. This virtual event is an opportunity for stakeholders to learn more about the proposed legislation and its impact on the Internet from a technical perspective.

When: Wednesday 26 January 2022, 14:00 EST/19.00 UTC

REMINDER: Nominations for Fellowship Program Mentors Now Open

ICANN Supporting Organizations and Advisory Committees are invited to nominate volunteers to serve as Fellowship Program Mentors for ICANN75-ICANN77. Each group is welcome to nominate one individual for this role, for a total of up to seven mentors. Nominations should be submitted by Friday, 25 February 2022 to fellowshipconsultation@icann.org.
