Dear GNSO Councilors,
Per the request below, I’d like to volunteer for the role of the GNSO representative on the CIP-CCG. I think my recent work as Chair of the CCOICI compliments this role, but happy to support others who may be interested.
Note that we will need to respond by 30 November and staff has confirmed that we don’t need a formal Council decision – non-objection should be fine.
Best regards,
Manju ________________________________ From: Alperen Eken Sent: Friday, October 13, 2023 2:40 PM To: soac-chairs@icann.org Subject: Action - Formation of a CIP-CCG
Dear SO/AC Leadership,
We would like to thank you again for the opportunity to present the proposal for a Continuous Improvement Program Community Coordination Group (CIP-CCG) on 29 September.
On behalf of the ICANN organization Review Support and Accountability team, I am reaching out to leadership of the ICANN Supporting Organizations (SOs) and Advisory Committees (ACs) to plan for implementation of the Third Accountability and Transparency Review (ATRT3) Recommendation 3.6, to evolve Organizational Reviews into a Continuous Improvement Program (CIP). As we reported at the SOAC Roundtable meeting on 29 September, ICANN org proposes the formation of a CIP-CCG to convene in December 2023, with the goal of developing a framework for implementation of ATRT3 Recommendation 3.6.
We will be looking forward to having some representatives with familiarity with Organizational Reviews, but also representatives with knowledge of continuous improvement work outside of ICANN; those that can contribute new and innovative ideas for improving the effectiveness and the accountability of the different ICANN structures. There is the importance of striking a balance between representatives with deep ICANN experience, and those that bring new perspectives.
Please see attached the full letter to SOAC Leadership on CIP-CCG and Terms of Reference for a CIP-CCG documents as discussed and reviewed. The next step is to proceed with this approach by the end of November as mentioned in the letter. We will be happy to address any question or input that your organizations’ members may have by then, and invite you to submit them to larisa.gurnick@icann.org and evin.erdogdu@icann.org. For transparency of the process, input received will be posted on a community page at https://community.icann.org/x/WJRME.
As indicated, we are happy to join any discussions you may have on this topic at the forthcoming ICANN meeting or at any other time.
Thank you for your time,
-On behalf of Reviews Support and Accountability
