Subject: Re: Reserved Names and String Similarity - Oct 9 Extraordinary Meeting

Dear Councilors,

The third alternative mentioned below has been seconded.   (Thank you, Lawrence)  To clarify, the term "adoption" in the third alternative refers to Board adoption of the AGB, which is set to occur in Dublin.  As noted by Lawrence, the Board has already clearly expressed in writing its preference for Option 2.

Thanks all. Will staff please amend the slides to include the addition of this Option 3 alternative for discussion at our October 9 meeting?

Thank you,

Anne

Dear Councilors,

Attached are slides prepared for the October 9 Extraordinary Meeting regarding the Reserved Names issue currently before the Council.  These are provided now to assist you in discussing the issue presented with your Cs and SGs.

Please be aware that there is also a possible third alternative under discussion which has not yet been accepted on the Council list.  The current draft of a third alternative is shown below and may also be helpful for discussion purposes in your Cs and SGs.  If a third alternative is seconded and finalized on the Council list, it will be forwarded promptly.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Anne
