CONSENT AGENDA

Motion to Confirm the DNS Abuse Mitigation PDP 1 WG Chair

Whereas,

  1. On 11 December 2025, the GNSO Council initiated two (2) Policy Development Processes (PDPs) for DNS Abuse Mitigation – PDP 1 and PDP 2 – and adopted the PDP1 Working Group (WG) Charter on 15 January 2026.
  2. On 15 January 2026, the GNSO announced a Call for Volunteers process to recruit the WG members, while also accepting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from interested community members to serve as the PDP 1 WG Chair.
  3. The GNSO Council Leadership tasked the GNSO Standing Selection Committee (SSC) with reviewing the PDP 1 WG Chair applications and recommending one individual for the Council to confirm.
  4. The SSC reviewed the applications received, taking into account the selection criteria outlined in the EOI announcements.
  5. The SSC submitted its Full Consensus recommendations to the GNSO Council by way of submission of the relevant motion.
  6. The GNSO Council considered the recommendation of the SSC.

 Resolved,

  1. The GNSO Council confirms the nomination of Paul McGrady to serve as the DNS Abuse Mitigation PDP1 WG Chair.
  2. The GNSO Council asks the GNSO Secretariat to inform the appointed candidate that he has been selected.
  3. The GNSO Council thanks those applicants who were not appointed and encourages them to apply for future opportunities as they arise.
