Thanks for checking in Bruna. With this email, you have been added to the SSAD Supplemental Recommendations Team as a GNSO Councilor.

 

Shortly after the 16 April 2026 GNSO Council meeting, an official call for volunteers will be sent out to groups (including GNSO Council). Any GNSO councilor can submit their name early to gnso-secs@icann.org to join this team vs waiting for the official announcement.

 

We will share the list with ICANN Travel; this will need to move quickly. Supplemental Recommendations Team Members who are funded travelers and choose to participate in the in-person workshop must update their travel by 24 April 2026. Alterations to funded travel will not be available after 24 April 2026.

 

As part of the team, the new arrival date will be 06 June (vs 07 June).

 

For those who have already booked, adjustments will be covered by ICANN Org. For those who have not booked and plan to be part of the SSAD Supplemental Recommendations Team, please hold off a little bit more before booking so we can work on membership.

I would like to be at this meeting. But my travel email says my arrival date is only the 7th, is there anything that I need to adjust ? or should I just book it arriving on the 6th?

We have received some questions regarding the face-to-face meeting referenced in the recent email re: the SSAD Supplemental Recommendations Team. We have provided some additional information below, but please feel free to reach out with additional questions.

 

When and where is the planned face-to-face meeting?

 

The SSAD face-to-face meeting will be held on Sunday, 07 June in Seville. This is one day before ICANN86 begins.

 

Will additional funding be provided? 

 

Yes. For the avoidance of doubt, members of the SSAD Supplemental Recommendations Team (including participating Councilors) will be provided with one additional hotel day and one additional day of per diem in Seville.

 

Please note there will be no airfare or additional hotel days (beyond Day 0) provided for members who will not already be in Seville. 

 

I am not a funded traveler for ICANN86, and I wasn’t planning on attending in person. Will remote participation be provided? 

 

Yes, remote participation will be made available for team members who are unable to travel.  

 

What if I already booked my travel to ICANN86?

 

If you plan to participate in the SSAD Supplemental Recommendations Team, you may make changes to your flight and hotel up until Friday, 24 April. 

 

Please note this is the final deadline to make changes to your travel arrangements. If you do not make changes by the deadline, any additional change fees will not be covered by ICANN org. 

 

What about the additional Community members who participate - can they attend this meeting in person? 

 

Yes. Please note that all members of the SSAD Supplemental Recommendations Team will be provided with one additional hotel day and one additional day of per diem only. Additionally, if a Community member has already booked travel, ICANN org will cover the change fee if travel is changed by the deadline of Friday, 24 April. 

 

Please note there be no airfare or additional hotel days (beyond Day 0) provided for members who will not already be in Seville.  

 

Because of the travel change deadline of Friday, 24 April, we kindly request councilors to let your respective groups know of this upcoming face-to-face meeting so that the additional community members from your constituency who plan to participate in the SSAD Supplemental Recommendations Team are aware of this planned meeting and can plan their travel accordingly.
