Dear Council members,

A letter regarding Whois to Vint Cerf from Peter Schaar, Chairman of the Article 29 Data Protection Working Party, has just been posted on the ICANN website;

The letter describes the Working Party's concerns regarding the draft Procedure on Potential Conflicts between Whois Requirements and Privacy Laws and the Preliminary Task Force Report on Whois Services.

Vint has responded to that letter, thanking the Working Party for its contribution to the ICANN policy process, and saying that the views of the Working Party will be given due consideration by stakeholders in that process. His letter will be published shortly.
