An interesting position for one of ICANN's ACs to take so close to the launch of a program that is the result of community bottom-up discussions…

FYI, ALAC (a 15 member body which is to At Large what the GNSO Council is to the GNSO) has a meeting today but my understanding is that there will not be a vote on this motion until early January (they may have another meeting scheduled around Jan 10).
