NEW: Answers to Questions About ICANN's Upcoming New gTLD Subsequent Procedures ODP

 

The New gTLD Subsequent Procedures Operational Design Phase (ODP [r20.rs6.net]) is an integral part of the preparation work necessary for a possible next application round for new generic top-level domain names (gTLDs). Since the ICANN Board directed the ICANN organization in September 2021 to prepare for the ODP, a team has been organizing the resources needed and developing the roadmap for the work ahead.

 

 

 

NEW: ICANN Request for Proposal: Financial Audit

 

ICANN organization issued a request for proposal (RFP) to identify an independent public accounting firm that has extensive experience in providing financial statement auditing services for not-for-profit organizations.

 

 

 

NEW: ICANN and AFTLD Partner to Promote Universal Acceptance in Africa

 

ICANN, in partnership with the African Top Level Domain Organisations (AFTLD) today announced the creation of a collaborative Universal Acceptance (UA) training program for members of the African community. The African TLDs Regional Universal Acceptance Training Program will provide a training series on the technical aspects of UA and serve as an opportunity to discuss how to effectively address UA issues in the region.

 

 

 

REMINDER: Join ICANN's Discussions during the 16th Internet Governance Forum

 

Members of the ICANN community, Board, and organization will participate in the Sixteenth Annual Meeting of the Internet Governance Forum [r20.rs6.net], to be held as a hybrid meeting from 6 to 10 December 2021. Hosted by the government of Poland, this year's overarching theme is: ‎‎"Internet United," conveying that the Internet connects all its users into one community, responsible for its shape and functioning.

 

 

 

REMINDER: ICANN74 Fellowship Application Round Now Open

 

ICANN opened the Fellowship Program application round for ICANN74. This round is open only to those who have previously completed an ICANN Fellowship because ICANN74 is a Policy Forum. The meeting is scheduled for 13-16 June 2022 in The Hague, Netherlands. If ICANN74 is held virtually, the Fellowship Program will also be held virtually. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, 15 December 2021, 23:59 UTC. Successful candidates will be announced on 10 February 2022 on the ICANN website.

 

 

 

REMINDER: Nominations for Fellowship Program Mentors Now Open

 

ICANN's Supporting Organizations and Advisory Committees are invited to nominate volunteers to serve as Fellowship Program Mentors for ICANN75-ICANN77. Each group is welcome to nominate one individual for this role, for a total of up to seven mentors. Nominations should be submitted by Friday, 25 February 2022 to fellowshipconsultation@icann.org
