Dear Councilors,

You may very likely have already seen some of these items listed in the ICANN Community Digest, but I thought it helpful to draw attention to a few items. It doesn’t diminish the importance of any of the other items in the digest of course!

• Pre-ICANN75 Briefing for Policy Research and Stakeholder Programs – this is the very first iteration of the pre-ICANN briefing from the Policy Research and Stakeholder Programs (PRSP) team. The majority, if not all, of the content should be GNSO relevant. You may see similarities to the GNSO’s own GNSO Policy Briefing ICANN75 Edition. There is good reason for that as the GNSO briefing served as inspiration to the PRSP team.
• Registration Data Consensus Policy for gTLDs Public Comment – This public comment proceeding on the policy language stemming from the GNSO’s EPDP on the Temp Spec – Phase 1 represents an important milestone in the life cycle of the GNSO’s EPDP and the Council has indicated it wants to pay closer attention to efforts post Council approval. The deadline for submissions is 31 October 2022.
• Pilot Holistic Review Draft Terms of Reference Public Comment – The GNSO Council and SG/Cs may all be impacted by the Third Accountability and Transparency Review Team’s (ATRT3) recommendation to initiate a new Specific Review, the Holistic Review. The Council may want to consider whether it specifically wants to submit public comment, or it could instead defer to the SG/Cs. The deadline for submissions is 20 October 2022.
