NEW: ICANN Webinars Kindle Interest in Proposed WHOIS Disclosure System

ICANN org has hosted two webinars about the proposed WHOIS Disclosure System since its Annual General Meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, last month. The two virtual events, which took place on 4 and 10 October, drew dozens of participants and elicited numerous questions and discussion.

NEW: ICANN Debuts Enhanced Board of Directors Section on the Information Transparency Platform

The Board activities and meetings pages on icann.org have been updated consistent with the goals of the Information Transparency Initiative (ITI) to improve the experience for community members and others who want access Board updates and associated files.

NEW: RPM Implementation Review Team: Call for Volunteers

ICANN org is seeking volunteers to participate in an Implementation Review Team (IRT) to assist in the implementation of the policy recommendations from the Phase 1 work of the Policy Development Process (PDP) Working Group on the Review of All Rights Protection Mechanisms (RPMs) in All Generic Top-Level Domains (gTLDs).

NEW: ICANN Launches Fiscal Year 2024 Additional Budget Request Process

The ABR Process reflects potential ICANN community activities that are not already included in the annual ICANN operating plan and budget. The ABR process helps the ICANN Board and ICANN organization (org) better understand and develop resources for present and future ICANN community needs. LAST CALL: Calling for NextGen@ICANN Applications for ICANN76

ICANN is calling for applications for the NextGen@ICANN [r20.rs6.net]program.

ICANN wants to hear from university students living and studying in the Latin America and Caribbean region who are interested in the future of the Internet and in participating in the ICANN76 Community Forum. ICANN76 is scheduled to be held in Cancún, Mexico from 11–16 March 2023. If ICANN76 is held virtually, the NextGen@ICANN program will also be held virtually. Apply [r20.rs6.net] by 24 October 2022. Successful candidates will be announced on 29 November 2022.

The ICANN for Beginners Virtual Program comprises a series of interactive webinars to provide an overview of the global Internet ecosystem. The program will also guide newcomers on how to join the ICANN community.

REMINDER: Call for Nominations Begins for ICANN Academy 2023 Leadership Program

ICANN has issued a call for nominations for the 2023 Leadership Program to be held 9-10 March 2023 in Cancún, Mexico, which is just prior to ICANN76.

The ICANN organization will reach out to the Supporting Organization, Advisory Committee, and Stakeholder Group chairs for nominations, and a registration link will be sent directly to individuals who are nominated.

The deadline for nomination is Thursday, 10 November 2022.
