To leverage the “Community Forum” format of the ICANN79 Public Meeting, GAC Members have created the opportunity for members of the ICANN community to gather in the GAC meeting room on Tuesday March 5 at 13:00 UTC (09:00 local San Juan time) to share their news and views with committee delegates in-person and on-line during the meeting.

This session will serve as an ‘open hour’ where individuals from different constituencies across the ICANN community are invited to register for a short remark time slot and "take the mic" to present questions or comments to the GAC. The GAC will be in "listening" mode during this session and may then reflect on any particular points raised in a subsequent session at ICANN79 or at a future ICANN Public Meeting.

You are welcome to come and do outreach at the ICANN Engagement booth @ICANN79. The ICANN Engagement booth is in place for Newcomers, ICANN org and the ICANN community to engage in discussions. It is supported by volunteers from the community, including members of ICANN’s Supporting Organizations and Advisory Committees. We would like to offer 1-hour slots during the ICANN79 meeting week.

NEW: Phase 2 Officially Opens: Expansion of ICANN Managed Root Server Singles in Africa

In collaboration with the Association of African Universities, we invite Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from eligible organizations interested in hosting an Africa-based IMRS single server instance. This collaboration aims to broaden the initiative's reach and effectiveness in raising awareness throughout the continent.

Community Consultation On Timing and Potential Deferral of ATRT4 Review

ICANN org is initiating consultation with the community to seek input on the timing of the Fourth Accountability and Transparency Review (ATRT4) and whether there is a need for a deferral of the ATRT4 for a limited time. A consultation approach is being used because it will allow for a targeted conversation with the SO/AC Chairs and their constituencies. While ATRT4 is of general interest to the entire ICANN community, it is important for the Board and org to understand whether the SO/ACs would be available to come together to populate, perform and deliver the recommendations within the ATRT4 while carrying out their other work.

Members of the ICANN org Review Support and Accountability team are available to meet with interested community groups during ICANN79 or after to address questions about ATRT4 Timing and other Review Topics.
