Sebastien et al,

I'm not sure how the selection of Council Liaison works when there is more than one volunteer.  I just turned down being appointed as an IPC rep to the Sub Pro IRT since my role as Nom Com non-voting Councilor is to advise the Council as a whole without regard to any particular position or interest.

Since today is the deadline for the next Council meeting and since the Sub Pro IRT is apparently convening this week, could Leadership or staff please clarify how we should proceed?

And will there be one IRT or two?  (Sub Pro Implementation Guidance calls for a separate IRT for Applicant Support.)

Thank you!

I guess I should be asking for this vote on the Council Liaison to the Sub Pro IRT to be added to the next GNSO Council meeting.  Terri - can you please add this item to the agenda?

Thank you!

Hi Sebastien et al - Will GNSO Council be voting on this Liason position to the Sub Pro IRT?  I think both Susan and I have volunteered.  IRT meetings apparently are starting May 16.

Thank you,
Anne

Thank you, Kurt, for your support.  I recently learned that the first meeting of the Sub Pro IRT is scheduled for May 16.  Curious as to where we are headed with participation in the liaison role(s).

While I am sure there are other qualified candidates on council, I think Anne would be an excellent choice: in her expertise on the subject matter, in understanding the role of a liaison (rather than an advocate), being an unbiased & meticulous reporter back to the Council, and in accurately carrying back any thoughts of the Council members to the IRT.

Thanks & regards,

Kurt

Sebastien,
Please consider this email to be my formal expression of interest to serve as GNSO Council Liaison to the Sub Pro IRT.  I previously submitted my interest informally when joining the Council.  My term on Council currently runs through the 2024 fall meeting.  I heard you say the Liaison must be assured of being on Council for a long time.  My intent would be to  accomplish as much as possible in my remaining term.  I would also apply to Nom Com again to continue on Council for another two year term.

As you know, I was active in the Sub Pro Working Group and have been active in the Council Small Team dealing with the Board's  38 pending issues.  I have now retired from the practice of law and do not represent any clients.  Accordingly, I have the time as well as the ability to avoid bias in the fulfillment of the role.

As Jeff pointed out, we may need more than one Council Liaison.

Thank you,
Anne
