Dear
Cherine, gTLD Committee colleagues,
(cc
GAC)
At this
time, I would like to provide the following comments on behalf of the
GAC.
The GAC believes it is important to address the concerns
raised by the GAC and others about the fairness of Digital Archery, before it is
launched.
The GAC
further understands that the Board gTLD Committee intends
to communicate
next steps for providing further information to the GAC and identifying
where there are linkages between Digital Archery,
Batching, Root Scalability, Early Warning and GAC Advice/Objections so
that there can be agreement reached, where appropriate,
on the process and timelines. In essence, the GAC
needs further information about ICANN’s approach in order to finalise its
own processes.
Lastly,
please be informed that the GAC
intends to send a letter of advice before the meeting in Prague, related to
the above.
Best,
Heather
