Thanks Tomslin. This still looks good but two questions:1. Last sentence in the job description says: " The ICANN Bylaws do not impose a limit on the number of
terms GNSO Council members may serve." Does this suggest to the Applicant that there are no term limits on NomCom appointees to Council? I can't remember the source of the limits but this sentence seems a bit misleading. (We kicked Paul and Desiree off Council after four years each.)2. Should this document make any reference to Board Code of Conduct once it is finalized? (The Board is likely to act before applications for the NomCom position are due.)Thank you,AnneOn Tue, Sep 2, 2025 at 3:17 PM Tomslin Samme-Nlar via council <council@icann.org> wrote:_______________________________________________Dear GNSO Councilors,
As occurs on an annual basis, the Nominating Committee (NomCom) has invited the GNSO Council to review the GNSO job description that is used both for recruitment and for the NomCom to use in their evaluation processes. You can see the 2026 job description attached, which relies on a version that was subject to Council’s review and revisions a few years ago.
Council leadership has reviewed the 2026 job description and believe it remains fit for purpose and can again be used. Our suggestion is to move forward with the current job description for 2026. However, if you believe changes are needed, please reply to this message by 12 September. If changes are needed and are of a substantive nature, we may need to consider establishing a short-lived drafting team. If changes are not needed, we will simply convey that message to the NomCom Operations Team.
Please let us know if you have any questions.Remain blessed,Tomslin
