NEW: ICANN Contracted Parties Set to Vote on RDAP Amendments; Join the Webinars

On 19 January 2023, contracted parties will begin voting on the proposed 2023 Global Amendments to the Base Generic Top-level Domain (gTLD) Registry Agreement (RA) and 2013 Registrar Accreditation Agreement (RAA). Engagement from gTLD registries and ICANN-accredited registrars in this voting process will be critical and ICANN org encourages all contracted parties to take the time to review the global amendments and vote accordingly.

ICANN org will hold two informational webinars for contracted parties on 17 and 18 January. The webinars will review the proposed global amendments and provide an overview of the voting process and procedures to ensure each registry and registrar has the information they need to participate in the vote. THIS WEEK: ICANN Contracted Parties Set to Vote on RDAP Amendments

On 19 January 2023, contracted parties will begin voting on the proposed 2023 Global Amendments to the Base Generic Top-level Domain (gTLD) Registry Agreement (RA) and 2013 Registrar Accreditation Agreement (RAA). This voting period is an important and decisive step in our commitment [r20.rs6.net] to the Internet community to improve the WHOIS system by updating the underlying technology with the more secure and capable Registration Data Access Protocol (RDAP).

THIS WEEK: ICANN Restarts the Community Regional Outreach Program for FY23

ICANN organization is restarting the Community Regional Outreach Program (CROP). The Fiscal Year 2023 (FY23) CROP space [r20.rs6.net] is now available for use by eligible community groups. FY23 CROP trips will be available starting Monday, 16 January 2023.

REMINDER: Call for SOs/ACs to Nominate Fellowship Program Mentors and Selection Committee Members

Supporting Organizations (SOs) and Advisory Committees (ACs) are invited to nominate volunteers to serve as mentors in its Fellowship Program and to serve on the Fellowship Program Selection Committee. There will be a total of seven mentors and seven Selection Committee members, and each group is welcome to nominate one individual for each role.

Interested SOs/ACs should select their respective Fellowship Program mentor and Selection Committee representative by Tuesday, 31 January 2023 and notify fellowshipconsultation@icann.org. Individual self-nominations will not be considered.

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) posted the Draft FY24-28 Operating and Financial Plan, and Draft FY24 Operating Plan and Budget for public comment on December 14, 2022. See link [r20.rs6.net]. [r20.rs6.net] And this proceeding closes on 13 February 2023.

The Nominating Committee (NomCom) of ICANN is accepting applications for key leadership positions within ICANN's Supporting Organizations and Advisory Committees, the ICANN Board of Directors, and the Public Technical Identifiers (PTI) Board of Directors.
