Dear Councilors,

Please see the ICANN Secretary's notice to the Empowered Community that the Board has 1) approved amendments to both standard and fundamental bylaws and 2) NomCom bylaws have been proposed for adoption. As a reminder, the following guideline was developed in 2019 by the GNSO to map out the expected steps in relation to Annex D, Article 1, Procedure for exercise of the EC’s rights to approve approval actions: https://gnso.icann.org/sites/default/files/file/field-file-attach/annex-d-approval-action-12dec19-en.pdf. Specifically pages 6-9 map out the expected next steps and timeline. There will be further communications prior to the next Council meeting, including information regarding an Approval Action Community Forum.
