Hi everyone,
As a follow-up to the GNSO SPS Prep, and with a view to our LA meeting, a modest suggestion on how we approach the role of council in the Empowered Community.
It may help to go through the EC process of slides 12/13 with concrete example(s), to sort of proofread this with concrete [use] case(s) in mind: Heather mentioned
the bylaws change following the non-ccNSO ccTLD representative to the IFR drama, that’s one, maybe the recent ASO/NRO’s request/petition on the transfer of the .org registry, or past rejection action petition relative to annual budgets etc. (in as much as
these would apply…)
Where each of them start(ed), stop(ped)/why, who’s consulted, at what point would GSNO council have (or had) to weigh in through our representation etc. Even “what
if examples” would help (me at any rate):
Just a thought, hope this doesn’t sound too candid, but there’s a steep learning curve on the EC AFAIC and anything that illustrates how the machinery works would
help (me :s ).
My apologies for not attending the call.
And best wishes to all for 2020!
Regards,
Philippe
