Heather Thanks for sharing this. I've no idea if this is really a "council issue" or not, but it's definitely a "human being" issue and one that those of us who work in technology should engage with. It would be helpful to get some parameters around this in terms of what people actually need. A 10 year old laptop probably won't even boot a modern OS, so some minimum specs etc., would be helpful. Also could there be any issues with travelling to PR via the US or other countries? I know I've had raised eyebrows in the past when I've had multiple devices. I only had a brief chat with Glenn McKnight about this, but what little I heard sounded promising, particularly in light of the recent circumstances in Puerto Rico. Is this something that we as the GNSO Council would like to pursue further? Or perhaps within SGs/Cs? Please give your thoughts so we can determine next steps, if any. The host organization .PR and ISOC PR are working on the logistics for selecting the schools and distribution of the laptops We are asking folks to remove all their data, reformat the system. Our volunteers will install Linux and other Open Source software We spoke with Goran and Nick Tomasso on ICANN support and involvement and perhaps they can coordinate with their communication team supportive information. We expect an information page in spanish and English soon. Please let your community know about the initiative Thanks Glenn McKnight NARALO Secretariat mcknight.glenn@gmail.com<mailto:mcknight.glenn@gmail.com> skype gmcknight twitter gmcknight 289-830 6259<tel:(289)%20830-6259> .
