PPSAI IRT Threshold Question Responses for the Attention of the GNSO Council
SENT ON BEHALF OF JASON KEAN, PPSAI Project Owner Dear Councilors, ICANN org is pleased to share the Privacy and Proxy Services Accreditation Issues (PPSAI) Threshold Question Responses paper (attached) with the Council on behalf of the PPSAI Implementation Review Team (IRT). Paul McGrady, in his role as GNSO liaison to the PPSAI IRT, is scheduled to present the IRT’s work at the Council’s upcoming 14 August meeting. The PPSAI IRT has worked over the past 13 months in sessions, on-list, and within documents to develop responses to the following threshold questions: * Policy: Are there any policy questions or items the IRT already wants to bring to Council for guidance? (Threshold Question A) * Accreditation Model (Accreditation Program or Alternative Implementation): Can an implementation model without a new standalone accreditation program remain consistent with the policy recommendations? (Threshold Question B) * Disclosure Frameworks (Intellectual Property and Law Enforcement): Are there specific areas to revisit under new law/policy (ICANN org to share assessment for IRT review)? (Threshold Question C) * Alignment of Privacy/Proxy Policy with Related Work: Can these frameworks be aligned with existing work on the Registration Data Request Service (RDRS), Registration Data Policy, and other existing procedures and remain consistent with the policy recommendations? (Threshold Question K) The PPSAI IRT and ICANN org look forward to the Council’s decision on next steps for this work and are standing by to provide additional support as needed.
