Connecting the GNSO and GAC
Dear Council, As discussed during our SPS in January, I have approached my peers GAC-side to find possible direct links between our two groups. To that extend I was able today to connect: * The GAC Internet Governance Topic Leads with our own newly minted Small Team at their request * GAC * Ana Neves, Portugal GAC Rep and GAC IG Topic Lead, and * Christine Arida, Egypt GAC Rep, GAC Vice Chair, and Caretaker of GAC Strategic Objective on IG * GNSO * Bruna, Desiree, Farzaneh, Jennifer and myself * The GAC Human Rights Topic leads with Farzaneh at her request * GAC * Suada Hadzovic, Bosnia and Herzegovina GAC Rep and co-chair of the GAC Working Group on Human Rights and International Law (HRILWG), and * Giacomo Mazzone, World Broadcasting Unions (WBU) GAC Rep and co-chair of the GAC Working Group on Human Rights and International Law (HRILWG) * GNSO * Farzaneh Should any other party wish to establish links with their peers GAC-side, please reach out to me. The concept has been shared with the GAC Liaisons and, schedule allowing, we will present it briefly to the GAC during our next bilateral at ICAN82 (Sun 9 March). Hi Sebastien, As mentioned in chat on yesterday's zoom with the GAC and the GNSO Board reps, I would like to volunteer for the "Urgent Requests" work that will be continuing in the GAC's Public Safety Working Group. Very happy that the GAC has acknowledged that release of information to authenticated Law Enforcement Authorities is not automatic but is a two-step process.
