Dear Councilors, Thank you for the continued dialogue on the request for a Policy Status Report (PSR) for the Expiration Policies (ERRP and EDDP). As noted in our last Council meeting, some Councilors were hesitant to defer the PSR further, while others noted the amount of pending work assigned to ICANN staff and questioned the urgency of this PSR. The attached motion attempts to find compromise. It requests a PSR, however it acknowledges that immediate work is not needed on this PSR and requests "either (i) delivery of the PSR or (ii) confirmation that work on the PSR has begun and an updated estimate on when the PSR should be delivered, in one (1) year from the passage of this motion." In other words, the motion puts the work into ICANN staff's "work queue", but allows ICANN the flexibility to manage prioritization of the work given staff's numerous competing priorities. Please let us know if there are concerns with this approach. If there are no concerns, this item will addressed in the consent agenda of June's Council meeting. Thanks, Greg
