FW: Regarding nominations for ICANN Board seat 14
To: John Jeffrey, ICANN Secretary and General Counsel From: Bruce Tonkin, Chair of the GNSO Cc: GNSO Council Dear John, The nomination period for the GNSO election for ICANN Board seat #14 has now closed. The GNSO Secretariat has posted the list of nominations to the Council list, available at: http://www.gnso.icann.org/mailing-lists/archives/council/msg02460.html Please review the eligibility of the candidates against the relevant provisions in the ICANN bylaws. I would appreciate it if you could respond by Friday 12 May 2006. Regards, Bruce Tonkin
Could we ask that all of those intending to stand for election submit a disclosure statement similar to the one we council members completed earlier this year? It would be helpful to know whether prospective candidates might face recusal on future Board votes. Bret
I think that is an excellent suggestion and is absolutely necessary in order for us to get a clear idea of possible/potential conflicts. Lucy
