The primary purpose is to induct "new" councillors who are joining the Council for the first time following the annual meeting and, in addition, to ensure that the GNSO Council is an effectively functioning vital organ within the GNSO. In so doing, we avoid the situation where new councillors are not adequately inducted and that the Council functions effectively from the outset. Further, that it is not seated together for the first time in February 2015. A key component of the induction and ongoing development of the Council is to ensure that the Council is properly oriented within the GNSO. I believe that we handled this effectively last year by inviting GNSO SG & Constituency leadership representatives to participate in the first session of the Development and Induction day. Accordingly, I would like to invite you (or an appropriate alternate) together with the GNSO selected ICANN board members to participate on the morning of Friday 17th October. As before, I expect the session to run from approximately 10 to 11h30 and will be very pleased if you could factor this into your planning for ICANN 51 in LA. I sincerely hope that you (or an appropriate alternate from our SG or Constituency) will be able to attend this important session and, any event, look forward to meeting with you in October. Confirmation of receipt of this email and ideally acceptance to attend the session will be much appreciated. I meant to say - it was very valuable last year. What an embarrasing typo.
