Ms. Suela Janina, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Albania to the United Nations, and H.E. Mr. Ekitela Lokaale, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kenya to the United Nations, to ICANN84. The ambassadors are serving as co-facilitators for the review of the implementation of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) outcomes, or what we know as WSIS+20 process. To help you and your communities prepare for ICANN84, I wanted to share some important details. We expect the ambassadors, their teams, and representatives from the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs to be on-site in Dublin on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. On Sunday, they will have the opportunity to meet with the Board and then GAC, followed by a reception with GAC delegates. On Monday, the co-facilitators will join the Welcome Ceremony, followed by the “Geopolitical Forum: WSIS+20 Focus” session, which will provide an opportunity for the co-facilitators to consult with the community on the WSIS+20 Zero Draft. Throughout their visit, the ambassadors will do their best to meet with community members to discuss the WSIS+20 review. Meeting requests will be handled by their staff, and scheduling will be based on availability. The ambassadors may also be interested in attending other sessions at your invitation. To arrange meetings with the co-facilitators or to invite them to other sessions, please contact: Deniz Susar, susar@un.org, and copy Eleonora Mazzucchi, eleonora.mazzucchi@un.org Thanks, Russ *From: *Russ Weinstein via Team-Leaders <team-leaders@icann.org> *Reply-To: *Russ Weinstein <russ.weinstein@icann.org> *Date: *Friday, August 29, 2025 at 3:34 PM *To: *"Soac-chairs@icann.org" <Soac-chairs@icann.org> *Cc: *Team-Leaders Russ Weinstein via <team-leaders@icann.org>, Veni Markovski <veni.markovski@icann.org>, Theresa Swinehart < theresa.swinehart@icann.org> *Subject: *[Team-Leaders] WSIS+20 Review Co-Facilitators to Attend ICANN84 Dear SOAC Leaders I am pleased to share with you that the co-facilitators appointed by the President of the United Nations General Assembly to lead the overall review of the implementation of the outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society will attend the ICANN84 Annual General Meeting in Dublin, Ireland. ICANN is honored to welcome H.E. Ms. Suela Janina, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Albania to the United Nations, and H.E. Mr. Ekitela Lokaale, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kenya to the United Nations. The co-facilitators will participate in a WSIS+20 review consultation during ICANN84 to receive feedback from the ICANN community. Details about the session will be shared in the coming weeks. ICANN looks forward to their participation and a productive ICANN84. This information will be formally announced by ICANN shortly. As I shared several weeks back, the ’84 schedule has been adjusted to move the Geopolitical session to Monday, this session will focus on the WSIS+20 and will feature the co-facilitators. In the coming days we will provide more information to you and your communities about the co-facilitators visit, their availability and the logistics of setting up time to engage with them more directly.
