ICANN offices, including the regional office for the Middle East and Africa (MEA) in Istanbul, remained closed for the greater part of last year. The Istanbul office partially reopened toward the end of September and began working in full operation as of 9 January 2023. Remote working has been the primary mode of operation across the entire region, with some in-person engagement beginning to resume in the third and fourth quarters of 2022. However, in 2023, we anticipate remote engagement to recede as the demand for face-to-face engagement is already on the rise. Read more.
