Dear Councilors,

Attached please find two draft requests that can be sent from the Council to the GNSO Standing Committee for Improvements (SCI). As you¹ll recall, the SCI update session in Singapore concluded with an action item for Avri, as Council liaison to the SCI, working with staff, to draft these template requests concerning two issues: (1) dealing with the Council¹s uncodified practice as regards proposers, seconders and friendly amendment of motions; and (2) the unresolved question of potential overlap between the rules concerning waiver of the 10-day motion deadline and the resubmission of motions.

We expect this topic to be on the agenda for the upcoming Council meeting, and so are sending these to you at this time.
