Time for Council meetings on 17 January and 31 January 2008
Dear Councillors, The Council representative's time zone spread is such that there is always an unfriendly hour for some. If one considered that meetings should not start later than midnight and earlier than 5:00 am and 22:00 UTC were a time that would accommodate the extremes, could we be sure that the affected council members would participate? This is important in view of the next two Council meetings on 17 and 31 January where a quorum is required for, among other possible votes, confirming the GNSO Council chair elections (17 January) and voting for the GNSO Vice chair (31 January). 22:00 UTC 22:00 UTC would give the corresponding times: 14:00 PST - California - Chuck Gomes, Mike Rodenbaugh, Robin Gross + Staff - Denise, Liz, Kurt, 16:00 Cedar Rapids - Tim Ruiz 17:00 EST - Tony Harris, Carlos Souza, Greg Ruth, Kristina Rosette, Suzanne Sene, Alan Greenberg, Rita Rodin 20:00 Buenos Aires - Olga Cavalli 22:00 London - Ute Decker, Tony Holmes 23:00 Brussels - Philip Sheppard, Jordi Iparraguirre, Tom Keller, Jon Bing, Avri Doria + Staff - Olof & Glen 00:00 Amman - Bilal Beiram 05:00 (next day) Phnom Penh - Norbert Klein 06:00 (next day) Hong Kong /Singapore - Edmon Chung, Cyril Chua 09:00 (next day ) Melbourne - Adrian Kinderis, Bruce Tonkin The other option might be: 15:00 UTC 15:00 UTC would give the corresponding times: 07:00 PST - California - Chuck Gomes, Mike Rodenbaugh, Robin Gross + Denise, Liz, Kurt 09:00 Cedar Rapids - Tim Ruiz 10:00 EST - Washington DC, - Avri, Tony Harris, Carlos Souza, Greg Ruth, Kristina Rosette, Suzanne Sene, Alan Greenberg, Rita Rodin 13:00 Buenos Aires - Olga Cavalli 15:00 London - Ute Decker, Tony Holmes 16:00 Brussels - Philip Sheppard, Jordi Iparraguirre, Tom Keller, Jon Bing, + Olof & Glen 17:00 Amman - Bilal Beiram 22:00 Phnom Penh - Norbert Klein 23:00 Hong Kong /Singapore - Edmon Chung, Cyril Chua 02:00 (next day ) Melbourne - Adrian Kinderis, Bruce Tonkin. Could you please comment so that the time for the next two meetings can be scheduled. Thank you very much. Kind regards, Glen -- Glen de Saint Géry GNSO Secretariat - ICANN gnso.secretariat[at]gnso.icann.org http://gnso.icann.org
Option 2 is far better for me and would seem to be more sociable for the greater number of Councillors.
As between the two, I prefer 15:00 UTC. Alternating between the two times would work as long as I had 2-weeks' notice. -----Original Message----- From: owner-council@gnso.icann.org [mailto:owner-council@gnso.icann.org] On Behalf Of GNSO.SECRETARIAT@GNSO.ICANN.ORG Sent: Friday, January 11, 2008 9:57 AM To: 'Council GNSO' Subject: [council] Time for Council meetings on 17 January and 31 January 2008 Dear Councillors, The Council representative's time zone spread is such that there is always an unfriendly hour for some.
